Croydon Town Centre is a Childsafe zone with a special ‘safe wristband’ scheme, plus CCTV coverage and extra security in the area throughout the Christmas period.
Children in your care can wear the band throughout their stay in Croydon Town Centre, and in the event that they become separated anyone finding your child(ren) can quickly make a call to let the family or carers know where their loved one has wandered off to. Simply pick up your free, colourful wristband and write your contact details on the reverse before securing the band onto your child’s wrist.
In the event of an incident, a call to the Childsafe security number on 08700 62 19 16 will ensure that the control room immediately begins a coordinated search across the Town Centre. Shops displaying the sticker with the helpline number and recognizable Child Safe logo act as Child Safe zones for separated children.
Look out for the Child Safe Zone’s smiley orange balloon stickers in shop windows to find out which stores are involved in the scheme.
Wristbands will be distributed in the Town Centre from 4pm on Switch On day (Thursday 18th November) and are also available from: Whitgift Centre, Allders, Centrale and Central Croydon Library.
